Before minute 0: without this, everything else falls apart

Do this list calmly, weeks ahead. The exact amounts are below, under "Amounts for 14 days", and in chapter 2.

• 14 days of water and food at home.
• A 72-hour backpack per person, a bag per pet and a kit in each car.
• A paper document folder by the door, plus an encrypted copy on a USB drive and in the cloud.
• Cash at home in small bills: at least 2 weeks of essential expenses.
• House rule: no car goes below half a tank.
• A printed communication plan: an out-of-area contact (ideally on a different power and phone grid), check-in times and 3 meeting points.
• Stay-or-go triggers written and signed, and 3 destinations with routes on paper.
• 90 days of every prescription medicine in the household.
• Hand-crank NOAA radio, GMRS/FRS radios, paper maps and offline maps downloaded.
• This guide printed or downloaded: in a crisis, the phone is the first thing to die.
• The activation message already drafted on every adult's phone.
• Roles decided: who is on team A (goes out) and who is on team B (home).
