- 1Confirm with two official sources. WEA alert, NOAA radio, FEMA. Social media doesn't count.
- 2Air attack, missiles or nuclear? Nobody goes out. Interior room, away from windows, at least 24 hours.
- 3Send the message: "PLAN ACTIVATED. Level 1, 2 or 3. Report your location."
- 4Water, now: tub, pots, bottles and buckets.
- 5Charge everything: phones, power banks, radios and power station.
- 6Team A goes out: cash, gas, pharmacy. Team B: house, documents, backpacks, pets.
- 7Decide with the triggers. If you leave, go in the first 6 hours or after the first wave.
Don't
- Don't go out if the threat is from the air or nuclear.
- Don't get your news from social media.
- Don't go into the gas station store: pay at the pump.
- Don't take to the highway without a confirmed destination.
Have ready
- 14 days of water and food at home.
- Cash in small bills; cars at half a tank or more.
- Document folder by the door.
- Signed triggers and 3 destinations with routes on paper.
