Hour 6 to 24: inventory, rations and rest
- Inventory written on paper: liters of water, calories of food, days of medicine, liters of gas, cash and batteries. Days you can last = what you have ÷ what you use per day. That number rules everything else.
- Rations: 2 L to drink plus 2 L for hygiene and cooking per adult per day; about 0.5 L per small dog. Two solid meals a day with full calories. Nobody "sacrifices": whoever doesn't eat decides worse.
- Fridge closed: without power it holds about 4 hours; a full freezer about 48 (half full, 24). Eat in this order: fresh, then frozen, then canned.
- Neighbors: identify 2 or 3 you trust (ideally someone with medical training), agree on a distress signal and don't reveal your inventory.
- Shifts: if the situation is active, half sleep and half keep watch. One rested person at hour 24 is worth more than four exhausted ones.
- Information: two news windows a day (for example, 8:00 and 20:00) plus official alerts. Outside of that, radio off: nonstop news drains batteries and judgment.
