- Cotulla → Linares is ~470 km with no planned fill-up: with a full tank at Cotulla there's plenty; without one, there isn't. If you didn't fill up at Cotulla, there are services at Encinal (exits 38/39) and in Laredo; there's nothing on TX-255.
- Cash per car: USD 100 in small bills (bridge, surprises) + at least MXN 5,000 (85D and La Gloria–Colombia tolls ~MXN 500, gas ~MXN 1,200–1,500 per fill-up, food, a hotel if you stay overnight). Assume card terminals don't work.
