Convoy and safety in Mexico

1 min read

  • Two cars, one behind the other, at most five cars apart. The taller one in front (better visibility and navigation), the other behind with the GMRS radio on the agreed channel.
  • If you get separated: nobody goes back to look; the meeting point is the next planned stop (Cotulla, the bridge, Linares).
  • Stop only at big gas stations and toll plazas. Doors locked, windows up, documents at hand for military and National Guard checkpoints (cooperate, don't film).
  • Cash split up: never all in one wallet or all in one car.
  • Live location shared with your family or contact at the destination; check in at every stop. Emergencies: 911; Ángeles Verdes roadside help: 078.
