A — Colombia / Bridge III-35Default800 km, 9–10 h, no overnight
B — Eagle PassI-35 → exit 111 → US-57 (98 mi, 2 lanes, oilfield traffic) → Camino Real (24 h) → Fed. 57 → Monclova → Fed. 53 → MonterreyLaredo closed or jammed, I-35 open~985 km, overnight in Monclova or Monterrey
C — Del RioLoop 1604 W → US-90 W → Hondo → Uvalde → Del Rio (24 h) → Fed. 29/57 → Monclova → MonterreyI-35 and the southwest of the city blocked~990 km, overnight
D — ReynosaI-37 S → US-281 S → Pharr (24 h) → Reynosa → Fed. 97/101 → VictoriaOnly if everything else is closed~720 km (the shortest), but it crosses Tamaulipas's highest-risk corridor: daylight only, in convoy and with the family confirming the road's condition that day
  • Route B: last big gas station on I-35 before US-57: Devine. Fill up in Eagle Pass too before crossing. In Mexico, don't take Fed. 2 toward Nuevo Laredo; take 57 to Monclova.
  • Route C: fill up in Hondo; from Uvalde you can still drop down US-83 to Eagle Pass if Del Rio fails.
  • If all four crossings are closed, the Mexico plan is canceled and you switch to the Hill Country plan.
